Game Meat
Japan Multi Hunters
With the theme "Embrace life fully, closely, and abundantly," a company in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, operates a dismantling and processing facility as well as a meat sales shop. They focus on not only game meat but also vegetables and fish, deeply exploring the practice of hunting and eating a variety of food. They are also committed to community building and social contributions.
Deer and wild boars, which damage crops and forests, are targets for culling, but over 80% of them end up being discarded. In an effort to change this situation, the company engages in activities that promote the deliciousness of game meat, such as wholesale of processed meats, food trucks, hunting experiences, and various events.
Pork
Yamaguchi Pig Farm
We source "Kiyokawa Megumi Pork," raised in the rich natural environment of Kiyokawa Village, Kanagawa Prefecture, directly from Yamaguchi Pig Farm, which has won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Award three times. Kiyokawa Megumi Pork is raised using the rare "group farming" method in Japan, allowing the pigs to live in conditions that are close to nature, ensuring they remain stress-free and healthy. By providing mineral-rich underground water from the Tanzawa Mountains as drinking water, the pigs' health is maintained, resulting in finely textured, tender meat with a light, sweet-tasting fat.
Seafoods
Fishermans in Manazuru
The seafood landed at Manazuru Fishing Port is exceptionally delicious, as it comes from a sea rich in nutrients, thanks to the minerals flowing from the forest "Ohayashi" at the tip of the Manazuru Peninsula. The unique "Donbuka" deep water topography and the water that rises from the seabed contribute to a variety of fish being brought ashore in the best possible condition. By offering seafood from Manazuru Port at our facility, we aim to increase the recognition and branding of local seafood, ultimately contributing to the revitalization of the fishing industry in the area.
Vegitables and Fruits
Local Small-Scale Farmers
In the warm climate of Manazuru, the cultivation of citrus fruits and olives is thriving. In addition, there are many local farmers around Manazuru who make the most of the region's unique characteristics! At COUSCOUS Glamping Manazuru, we source vegetables and fruits from these local small-scale farmers. We are actively working to revitalize local agriculture while also making use of imperfect or damaged crops, contributing to food waste reduction efforts.
About Venison
At COUSCOUS Glamping Manazuru, we offer game meat, particularly venison, for both dinner and lunch. Venison is not something people often eat, but it's not only good for health, beauty, and the environment—it's also a truly exceptional meat when prepared properly! Some people may have the perception that venison is "smelly" or "tough," but when it is carefully processed and cooked, it becomes absolutely delicious. We encourage you to give it a try!

The Deliciousness of Venison
The venison served at our facility comes from the Japanese Honshu deer hunted in forests nearby. It is properly bled and processed at the Japan Multi Hunters' processing facility, ensuring that the venison is delivered in the best condition. Our staff, skilled in preparing game meat, then cooks it to perfection, carefully selecting the appropriate methods for each cut.
Raised in the wild, eating natural vegetation and acorns, the venison has a rich red meat with a clean and refreshing flavor.
Abroad, venison is so highly regarded that it is served as the main dish at the Nobel Prize banquet.
Good for Health and Beauty
The appeal of venison lies in its high protein content and low calories and fat, but what is often overlooked is its high concentration of easily absorbed "heme iron" (about twice the amount found in beef!). When paired with a balsamic sauce containing citric acid, which helps with iron absorption, our barbecue course is expected to help improve symptoms such as anemia, cold sensitivity, and fatigue.
Additionally, venison is rich in nutrients like vitamins B1, B2, and B6, potassium, and zinc, which can help prevent aging, promote healthy skin, and boost immunity.
Venison and Environmental Conservation
In various regions across Japan, damage to crops by wild animals and forest overgrazing have become significant issues. In recent years, to address these problems, the number of boars and deer being captured has greatly increased.
However, only about 10% of these animals are used for meat. Moreover, the labor and costs involved in burying or incinerating the captured wild animals are a burden for hunters and local governments.
At Couscous Glamping Manazuru, we sympathize with the efforts of Japan Multi-Hunters, who aim to maintain rich forests that foster biodiversity and preserve the balance of ecosystems. We are committed to the sustainable use of the animals captured for hunting, helping to protect human life and contribute to environmental conservation by promoting the use and recognition of game meat.
